School Library

The CBS School Library opened its doors on September 24th 2008. the new library -a Student Council initiative- was established with a view to promoting reading among the students of the school. The Student Council sent out an appeal to all students to donate at least one book each to the new library. The response was very positive. Currently, approximately 1,000 books fill the shelves, fiction and non fiction, catering for all tastes and age groups. Sincere gratitude is extended to all who donated books - students, parents, teachers, Mick O'Callaghan [caretaker], O'Brien Press and many others . The School Library opens for students every Wednesday during lunch time, at 1.15pm.Dedicated librarians Kieran Cooney, Alan McCarthy and Barry McCarthy generously give of their free time every week to help with the smooth running of the library.
